WBPSC WBCS Vacancy 2023

The WBPSC WBCS 2023 Vacancy details have not been announced yet by the commission. These vacancies will be announced in due time after requisition details from various departments are received. Mentioned below are a list of pointers that the candidate must keep in mind about the vacancies:

• The candidates belonging to the reserved categories must provide the required documentation to prove the same.
• Some vacancies will be reserved only for the candidates from West Bengal. Reservation benefits for SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer) candidates are available only to candidates from West Bengal.
• Candidates that belong to the General category must not apply from any of the Reserved categories or their application will be dismissed.
• Only the online submission of application will be accepted for the WBPSC WBCS Recruitment 2023.

The candidates must complete the WBPSC WBCS Application 2023 online on the official website for the WBPSC Recruitment 2022. Any other mode of application will not be accepted under any circumstances. The candidates must read and fill out all the information required in the online application accurately. They must also attach the required scanned copies of documents and pay the examination fee through the specified mode of payment. Step 1: Visit the official WBPSC applications link by clicking on the link given above.

Step 2: Complete the signing-up procedure and enter your login details to access the WBCS application form.

Step 3: Fill out all the required details in the application form and attach the scanned copies of the necessary documents. 

Step 4: Verify all the information you have provided in the form for accuracy and click on “Submit.”

Step 5: Complete the process of paying the examination fee. Once that is done, your application process is completed. The applications of the candidates that do not pay the examination fee, if required of them, will be dismissed.

Step 6: Download the filled out application form and receipt for the examination fee payment for future reference.

The candidates must attach all the required documents and proof, such as Age and ID Proof, Matriculation Marks Sheet and Passing Certificate, Nationality Proof, Address Proof, Caste and Migration Certificate (if required), etc. Candidates will be required to produce the original copies of these documents at the time of verification.

WBPSC WBCS Application Fee 2023

• The candidates are required to pay an examination fee of Rs. 210, excluding the service charges and GST that is applicable.
• The SC and ST candidates of West Bengal, and PwD candidates (above 40%) are exempted from paying the examination fee.
• BC candidates of West Bengal are required to pay the usual fee of Rs. 210.
• No exemption of fee is available to SC/ST/BC candidates of other states.
• No claim for refund of the fee will be entertained nor will it be held in reserve for any other examination.

WBPSC WBCS Selection Process 2023

The WBPSC WBCS Selection Process 2023 is detailed in the official notification which provides all the necessary information regarding the WBCS Recruitment, including details like the eligibility criteria, selection process, syllabus, and pay scale, among others.

The selection process for the WBCS Recruitment 2023 includes:

• Prelims Examination
• Main Examination, and
• Personality Test.

The particulars of the WBCS examination are as follows:

• The papers will be bilingual, i.e., in English and Bengali apart from the language-specific papers which will be in the stipulated languages alone.
• The Prelims Examination will be one paper worth 200 marks covering different topics falling under General Studies. This will be MCQ- based.
• The Main Examination will have 6 compulsory papers and 1 optional subject for certain candidates. 4 out of the 6 compulsory papers will be MCQ-based and the other 2 will be a conventional written examination.
• The Prelims Examination will be for 2 ½ hours and each paper under the Main Examination will be for 3 hours.
• The MCQ-based questions will be worth 1 mark each.
• There will be negative marking for incorrect answers but not for unattempted questions. But the exact penalty has not been disclosed by the WBPSC in the official notification.
• The WBCS Personality Test too has marks. For Group A and B it is 200 marks; for Group C it is 150 marks and for Group D it is 100 marks.

WBPSC WBCS Eligibility Criteria 2023

The WBPSC WBCS Recruitment Notification 2023 contains the relevant information regarding the eligibility criteria. Only those candidates who meet the WBCS Eligibility Criteria will be eligible for selection against the advertised vacancies. If at any stage it is found that any candidate is unable to meet with the eligibility guidelines, then his/her candidature will be canceled right away. 

Age Limit(As on 01.01.2023)

• For the West Bengal Police Vacancies, the lower age limit is 20 years while the upper age limit is 36 years.
• For the vacancies under Group D, the lower age limit is 21 years while the upper age limit is 39 years.
• For all other vacancies, the candidate must be above the age of 21 years and below the age of 36 years.
• Candidates whose age is between 20 years and 21 years as on 1st January of the next year (compared to the year of publishing the advertisement) can apply only for Group B posts.
• Upper age concessions are provided to candidates belonging to certain categories.

Educational Qualifications

• The candidate must have a degree from a recognized University in India.
  • The candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Bengali. Candidates whose mother tongue in Nepali are exempted from this requirement.

Nationality

• The candidate should be a citizen of India, or
• The candidate must be declared eligible as a national by the Government of India with the required documents in both cases.

WBPSC WBCS Salary Details 2023

• The pay scale for Group A posts is Rs. 56,100 - 1,44,30 plus various allowances.
• The pay scale for Group B posts is Rs. 56,100 - 144,300.
• The pay scale for Group C posts is Rs. 42,600 - 1,09,800 plus various allowances.
• The pay scale for Group D posts is Rs. 32,100 - 82,900 plus various allowances.

WBPSC WBCS Syllabus 2023

The details regarding the WBPSC WBCS Syllabus 2023 are provided in the recruitment notification. The selection process for the post comprises a Prelims Examination, a Main Examination, and a personality test.

WBCS Prelims Exam Syllabus 2023

The Prelims Examination comprises one paper on General Studies. It contains 200 MCQ-based questions worth 200 marks (each section 25 marks) and will be conducted for a duration of 2 hours. The marks obtained by a candidate in the Prelims examination is only for selecting candidates for the Main examination. These marks will not factor in their final scores or selection.

• The Prelims Examination contains 200 questions worth 200 marks.
• The Main Examination papers which are MCQ-based contain 200 questions worth 200 marks.
• The Prelims Examination is for 2 ½ hours and each paper under the Main Examination is for 3 hours.
• The Prelims Examination is only to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination. The scores obtained in this exam will not be counted for the final selection.
• The WBCS Personality Test carries different marks for different groups. For Group A and B it is of 200 marks; for Group C it is of 150 marks and for Group D it is of 100 marks.
