According to UPPSC Notification UPPSC Application Process 2024

Candidates can apply for the UPPSC PCS exam in online mode only. The application window was active between 3rd March 2023 to 10th April 2023 for the previous cycle. To apply online for UPPSC Exam, follow these steps:

Step 1: Visit the UPPSC One Time Registration Portal.

Step 2: First complete the OTR Process by providing the required details. You will then get your registered ID & password. Make sure you use a valid email ID, which you have to keep active until the final declaration of result.

Step 3: Once OTR is done, login and proceed to fill out the UPPSC application form. Fill in the mandatory fields like name, address, contact details, educational details etc., very carefully.

Step 4: Upload your scanned photograph and signature as per the format mentioned in the official notification. To optimize the size of these documents you may use Tesbook's UPPSC Photo Cropping Tool.

Step 5: Submit the UPPSC Online Application Form.

Step 6: Take out a Print Out of the Application Form for future reference. 

Note: As per the official UPPSC Notification, if the Commission finds the provided application information as untrue/false, the respective candidates will be debarred from sitting in not just the current exam but also in other future exams conducted by UPPCS including other penalties as deemed fit.

UPPSC Exam 2024 Application Fee (Expected)

To complete the application process one must pay the required application fee on or before the deadline for online applications. The UPPSC Application Fee for various categories is expected to be as follows -

• General/OBC - Rs.125
• SC/ST - Rs.65
• PWD - Rs.25
• Ex-Servicemen - Rs. 65

UPPSC PCS Selection Process 2024

The selection process for UPPCS Recruitment 2024 will comprise the following 3 stages:

1. Preliminary Examination 
2. Mains Examination
3. Interview.

• The Preliminary exam will be of an objective type. There will be multiple choice-based questions on the Preliminary Exam. There will be a total of two papers for 200 marks each.
• The Mains exam will have descriptive questions. The candidates have to write full-fledged answers in this round. 
• The last round of the selection process will be the Personality Test (Viva-Voce). The qualified candidates in the last rounds will be qualified for the posts after verification of all the documents. The final merit list will be out after the completion of the Selection Process.

UPPSC PCS Exam Pattern for Prelims & Mains 2024 [Updated]

The UPPSC exam pattern for the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services (General Recruitment/Special Recruitment) and Assistant Conservator of Forest/Range Forest Officer Services comprise three successive stages viz:-

1. Preliminary Examination (Objective Type & Multiple choices)
2. Main Examination (Conventional Type, i.e. Written examination)
3. Viva- Voce (Personality Test)

UPPSC Prelims Exam Pattern 2024

UPPSC Prelims Exam will be conducted in 2 papers, Paper I and Paper II. Both papers will be of 200 marks each. However, Paper I will consist of 150 questions and Paper II which is qualifying in nature will have 100 questions.

• For each wrong answer, 1/3 (0.33) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.
• No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.
• The minimum marks to qualify Paper II are 33%.

The UPPCS Mains Exam Pattern has been revised. The optional subjects have been removed, and the exam will now have 8 compulsory papers. These will include a paper on Hindi, Essay, and six papers on General Studies. The details of the same are indicated below.

The final stage of the selection process will be the Interview. It carries a weightage of 100 marks. The Essay Paper will be divided into three parts. Candidates must choose one subject from each section and write an essay of approximately 700 words on that topic. In the three sections, the topics of essay will be based on the following :

UPPSC Exam Age Limit

The age of the candidates applying for the UPPSC PCS examination must be within the age limit mentioned below..

• Minimum Age - 21 years
• Maximum Age - 40 years

Age Relaxation

For the following categories, the UPPSC has provided age relaxation:

UPPCS has mentioned the following requirements in order to claim the advantage of age relaxation or reservation:

• The candidate must reside in Uttar Pradesh.
• A candidate requesting a seat reservation must present a category certificate from the appropriate authority.
• The caste/domicile certificate obtained by the father should be regarded as valid for female candidates.
• Candidates who claim reservation/age relaxation in more than one category for the UPPCS Exam are only eligible for one concession, whichever is more advantageous.

UPPCS 2024 - Educational Qualification

For the posts included in the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services (General Recruitment/Special Recruitment) Examination, you must possess a bachelor's Degree from any recognized University or equivalent qualification up to the last date for receipt of application.
