TNUSRB SI 2023 vacancy is released by the board in the official notification, on the official website. The number of vacancies for open and departmental quota with respect to the category is released in the official notification. Last year the recruitment drive was conducted to fill up a total of 444 vacancies, of which 399 vacancies were for the post of Sub Inspectors of Police (Taluk) and 45 for Sub Inspectors of Police (AR) posts. Out of the total vacancies for Taluk and AR, 30% was allotted for Women/ Transgender candidates. Women/ Transgender candidates were also entitled to compete in the remaining 70% of vacancies along with men candidates in the Taluk and AR vacancies. The process for the TNUSRB SI recruitment application is very simple and similar to other exam applications. Every year the commission announces the official notification about the recruitment of various posts. Simultaneously, the commission also provides the application form link for Sub Inspector (SI) posts on its official website.
Candidates must check their eligibility for the exams through the official notification and then fill out the application form. Also, they must fill out the application form with the required details and necessary files. Thus, they must make sure to keep all essential documents alongside them while filling out the application form. Once done, the candidates can recheck all the details filled, and then process. Candidates must fill out the application form with the necessary details and then proceed to the payment. After the payment, candidates can download the receipt generated and take a printout for future reference.

Step 2: Under the relevant recruitment, click on the ‘Application form’ link.
Step 3: Click on the ‘Create New User’ link if you are a new user and complete the registration process.
Step 4: After the registration process, use the credentials to log in and complete the Application Process. Provide all the required details to fulfil the form.
Step 5: Proceed to submit the details after cross-checking them
Step 6: Next, proceed to the payment section. On the payment page, select the medium through which you want to make a payment.
Step 7: Complete fee payment for the application form by paying online or offline.
Step 8: Download the application form and make a copy of the same for future reference.
As with all the other exams, candidates have to pay some required fees for the successful application of the exams. The TNUSRB SI 2023 fees will be as per the official notification, which will be released by the board on its official website. If there is any change in the application fee then the candidates will be notified on the site until then, the fee is expected to be the same as the last year:
The TNUSRB SI selection procedure comprises of the following stages:-
Stage 1 of the selection process is the written examination. This is again divided into two parts.
The Tamil Language Eligibility Test is qualifying in nature. The objective test will consist of 100 questions for 100 marks, and the duration of the examination will be 100 minutes (1 Hr 40 mins.)
The Main written examination consists of Part A - General Knowledge and Part B - Logical Analysis, Numerical Analysis, Psychology Test, Communication Skills and Information Handling Ability. The written examination will be a total of 70 marks, and the duration of the examination will be 150 minutes (2 Hr 30 mins.)
The detailed examination pattern for both Part 1 and Part 2 is shared further in this article.
After securing the minimum qualifying marks in Part 1 and qualifying the Part 2 of the examination by securing the required marks to be able to get into the cut-off, the candidates will be called for document verification in the second stage of the TNUSRB SI recruitment process of 2023. All the necessary originals and photocopies of the documents will be checked by the appointed authority by the board on the given date and time at the dedicated venue. After this, candidates will go through the next stages, which are described below in this article. The list of the essential documents which will be required for certificate Verification is given below.

These are the two tests after certificate verification in Stage 2. Candidates who qualify to show their required certificates to the commission are only eligible to give the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Endurance Test (ET). Both the tests are described separately in the table given below further in this article.
Further, in the second stage, candidates will be going through the Physical Measurement Test. PMT is only qualifying in nature for open quota candidates. Departmental quota candidates are exempted from giving PMT. Moreover, PMT norms for open quota candidates are given below in the following table. If there is any change in the 2023 cycle, then the measurements will be mentioned in the new notification that shall be released by the authorities:

Again, the Endurance Test is qualifying in nature for both open and departmental quota candidates. Only the candidates who qualify in the ET will be allowed to participate in the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The norms for open and departmental candidates for the Endurance Test are as follows:-

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is the next step in the second stage of the TNUSRB SI 2023 recruitment. This test comprises a maximum of 15 marks for open quota candidates. Moreover, the departmental candidates are exempted from PET. The details of the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for the open category are below. If there is any change in the 2023 cycle, that shall be notified to the candidates in advance.

This is the third stage in the selection process of TNUSRB SI recruitment process of 2023. Candidates who qualify in stage 2 are only eligible for this stage. This stage is necessary for both open and departmental quota candidates. The detail of this examination stage is given below:-
This is the fourth stage in the selection process of the TNUSRB SI 2023 recruitment process. Special marks for carrying NCC, NSS or any other sports/ games certificate are given to the candidates which will be added to their total marks in stage 1, stage 2 and stage 3 of the recruitment process before publishing the provisional cut-off list of the selected candidates. The special marks for different certificate holders are given below:-
The provisionally selected candidates will be subjected to Medical Examination and Verification of Character and Antecedents. Here the medical fitness and the character of the candidates are examined by the appointed doctors through the commission. After examining all these details, the board will publish the final merit list to recruit the TNUSRB SI for 2023.
Candidates must meet specific TNUSRB SI eligibility criteria 2023 before filling up the application form and applying for the examination. Criteria like minimum education qualification, age, nationality, physical measurement, etc., must be checked before appearing in the TNUSRB SI 2023 examination.
A specific age limit is provided by the commission, which ensures that the number of candidates appearing for these exams is limited. The candidates appearing for the TNUSRB SI recruitment exam 2023 must have attained the age of 20 and not be more than 30 years old. However, age relaxations are provided to candidates of different categories The age category will remain the same; if there is a change, then it shall be given in the notification yet to release.

The first stage of TNUSRB SI 2023 i.e the written examination, is divided into two parts, Part 1 and Part 2 written examinations. An overview of the TNUSRB SI syllabus for these parts is as follows:-

The TNUSRB SI exam pattern can be noticed through the old question papers and a few other ways. Candidates must always be aware of the exam pattern before appearing for any exams. The written examination paper differs slightly for the open quota candidates and the departmental quota candidates.
Part 1: The first part of the paper is based on the General Knowledge of the candidates. A total of 80 questions are present in part 1, which carries 40 marks. Thus each question carries a half mark.
Part 2: The second part includes a more extensive syllabus with a total of 60 questions carrying half marks each. Thus Part 2 consists of 30 marks. All the questions in both parts are of objective type.
The total duration of the paper is 2:30 hours. Candidates must secure at least 25 marks to qualify for further rounds of the selection process.
Part 1: The first part of the paper is based on the General Knowledge of the candidates. A total of 30 questions are present in part A, which carries a total of 15 marks. Thus each question carries a half mark.
Part 2: The second part includes a more extensive syllabus with a total of 140 questions carrying half marks each. Part B consists of 70 marks. All the questions in both parts are of objective type.
The total duration of the paper is 3 hours. Candidates must secure at least 30 marks to qualify for further rounds of the selection process.
