Candidates can download the result from the link given in this article. Earlier, The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission had released a notification for the post of Jailor. A total of 59 vacancies have been released of which 54 vacancies are released for Assistant Jailor (Men) and 5 candidates for Assistant Jailor (Women). The concerned department had made it mandatory for interested applicants to execute a One-Time-Registration through online mode. The One one-time registration will be valid for five years for every applicant who has paid the registration fee. The TNPSC registration should be renewed by paying a particular fee as mentioned. 

• Candidates could apply online from 12th April to 11th May 2023.
• The age of the candidates must not exceed 32 years.
• The salary for the candidates who will be selected is INR 35,400 to INR 1,30,400

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has officially declared the TNPSC Assistant Jailor Result 2023 for the written exam held on 1st July 2023. Candidates can now download the TNPSC Jailor exam result by entering their registration number, date of birth on the direct link given above.

How to Apply for TNPSC Jailor Recruitment 2023?

Applicants must first register their basic information using the One Time Online Registration system and pay a particular registration fee before applying online for this position. [From the date of registration, the One-Time Registration will be valid for 5 years.] After that, you must renew your registration by paying the required cost as mentioned on the official website.

The Examination fee should be paid at the time of submitting the online application for this TNPSC Jailor Recruitment 2023. You may execute the steps mentioned below to fill up the application form:

Step 1. Applicants should apply only through online mode on the Commission’s websites.

Step 2. One Time Registration (OTR) and an applicant Dashboard are mandatory before applying for any post. Applicant should register only once in the One Time Registration by paying Rs.150/- as registration fee. Successfully registered One Time Registration is valid for 5 years from the date of Registration. All the applications should be submitted using the One Time Registration ID and password registered by the applicant.

Step 3. For applying in One Time Registration, the applicants should have a scanned image of their photograph, certificates wherever insisted and signature in CD/DVD/Pen Drive to upload the photo, certificates and signature. 

Step 4. Applicants who have already registered in One Time Registration shall use their existing user ID and Password to create an Applicants Dashboard in the new One Time Registration system. No applicant is permitted to create more than one registration ID in One Time Registration. 

Step 5. Enter the Unique ID and password to view the already available information and update them. 

Step 6. One Time Registration is not an application for any post. It is just a collection of information from the applicants and giving a separate dashboard to each applicant to facilitate them to maintain their own profile. Applicants who wish to apply for this recruitment shall click “Apply” against the recruitment notified in the Commission’s website using the same USER ID and PASSWORD given for ONE TIME REGISTRATION. 

Step 7. Select the name of the post or service for which the applicant wishes to apply. 

Step 8. Applicants are required to upload their photograph and signature as per the specifications given in the Guidelines for Scanning and Upload of Photograph and Signature.You can use the Testbook Cropping Tool to post your signature and image in particular dimensions.

Step 9.An online application uploaded without the photograph, specified documents and signature will be rejected. 

Step 10. All the particulars mentioned in the online application including name of the applicant, post applied, educational qualifications, communal category, date of birth, address, e-mail ID, centre of examination etc. will be considered as final and no modifications will be allowed after the last date specified for applying online. Since certain fields are firm and fixed and cannot be edited, applicants are requested to fill the online application form with utmost care and caution as no correspondence regarding change of details will be entertained. 

Step 11. Print Option 

• After submitting the application, applicants can print / save their application in PDF format. 

• On entering User ID and password, applicants can download their application and print, if required. 

• Need not send the printout of the online application or any other supporting documents to the Commission. The application and certificates will be verified only when the applicants come up for the next stage of selection. 

Step 12. One Time Registration will not be considered as an application for any post.

TNPSC Jailor Selection Process 2023

The selection for the TNPSC Jailor post will be made in only one stage:

• Written Examination 

Final selection will be made on the basis of the total marks obtained by the applicants at the Written Examination. Applicant's appearance in the Written Examination. An applicant who has not appeared for the Written Examination will not be considered for selection, even if he/she secures qualifying marks for selection.

TNPSC Jailor Eligibility Criteria 2023

Eligibility Criteria act as a gateway to attending the selection process. The applicants will be rejected if any of them do not meet the eligibility. The authority also has the right to reject the candidate’s application in case the eligibility criteria don’t match. The eligibility criteria in terms of age, educational qualification, physical qualification, knowledge of Tamil, etc are mentioned below:

Age Limit (as on 01.07.2023)

(For both the posts of Jailor (Men) and Jailor (Women))

Age Relaxation 

• For “Others”, Differently Abled Persons are eligible for age concession upto 10 years over and above the maximum age limit prescribed above.
• No maximum age limit for the applicants who belong to SCs, SCs(A), STs, MBC/DCs, BCs (Other than Muslims) and BCMs.
• The maximum age limit is 48 years for “Others” (i.e) applicants not belonging to any of the above-said categories.
• The above-mentioned age concession will not apply to Ex-Servicemen applicants who have already been recruited to any class or service or category.

Educational Qualification

(For both the posts of Jailor (Men) and Jailor (Women))

• A degree from any of the Universities recognized by the University Grants Commission.

Physical Qualification

Certificate of Physical Requirement

A certificate containing the following particulars should be obtained from a Medical Officer, above the rank of an Assistant Surgeon appointed by the Government to a Government Medical Institution on or after the date of Notification and submit the documents when called for by the Commission.
