SSC GD Constable Notification is expected to be out on 24 November 2023. Candidates can apply online between 24th November 2023 to 28th December 2023. The SSC conducts the GD Constable Examination to appoint candidates for various forces like the Special Security Force (SSF), Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Rifleman in Assam Rifles Commission, and Sepoy in the Narcotics Control Bureau. • 40,274 vacancies for males and 4835 for females have been considered for allocation (except NCB, where vacancies are combined for male and female candidates.
• The SSC GD Constable Selection Process is based on Computer Based Exam (CBE), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standards Test (PST), and Medical Examination. 
• The SSC GD CBE will consist of one objective type of paper. A total duration of 60 minutes will be given to attempt the CBE.
• For Sepoy in NCB, the pay scale will be between Rs. 18000 and Rs. 56900 as per level 1, and for all other posts, the pay scale will be between Rs. 21700 and Rs. 69100 as per level 3.
• The application status for KKR Region is active. The admit cards are expected to be released soon.

SSC GD Exam 

The SSC GD Full Form is General Duty, Constable. This examination is generally conducted in the months of February and August. The application process begins at least one month prior to the exam. The GD Constable exam is conducted in stages as given below:

• Written Test: The written test consists of objective-type questions from General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics and English/Hindi.
• Physical Efficiency Test: The Physical Efficiency Test consists of different physical tests such as running, long jump, high jump, shot put, etc.
• Medical Examination: The Medical Examination is conducted to test the physical and mental fitness of the candidates. It includes tests such as eye tests, hearing tests, dental check-ups, etc.

The objective type paper is of 100 marks which has to be completed within 90 minutes. The paper consists of four sections which are General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics and English/Hindi. The minimum qualifying marks for the exam is 35%.

The candidates who qualify the written exam are called for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). The candidates who qualify the PET and PST are eligible for a medical examination. The final selection is based on the marks obtained in the written exam and the medical examination.

What's New in SSC GD Notification 2024?

Well, this year, SSC is giving huge surprises in all the exams that SSC Conducts. SSC has given some surprises in the notification of SSC GD Constable too. Let's have a look at the below-mentioned pointers to know what SSC does major changes:

• The SSC GD  Exam Pattern has been revised. Earlier, in CBE, 100 questions were asked for 100 marks, which were to be attempted in 90 minutes. Now, the revised exam pattern of CBE contains 80 questions for 160 marks, and that must be attempted in 60 minutes.
• Earlier, each section contained 25 questions, but now, each will have 20 questions.
• Another major change is in the age limit. The age limit as specified by SSC is from 18 to 23 years, but in the upper age limit of 3 years, age relaxation has been provided due to Covid, which means that the candidates must not have been born earlier than 2nd January 1997.
