Odisha Judicial Services Vacancy 2023

The total number of vacancies released by the OPSC is 57 posts. Below are the complete category-wise details of the OPSC Recruitment 2023.

Note- In case of non-availability or insufficient availability of eligible women candidates, the vacancies will be filled by the male candidates.

In case of non-availability or insufficient availability of eligible SC/ST/SEBC candidates, the vacancies will be filled by the other category candidates.

Eligibility Criteria for Odisha Judicial Services Recruitment 2023

A. Age Requirement for Odisha Judicial Services Recruitment 2023

Age is one of the major eligibility criteria, the candidates who is wishing to apply for the examination must not be below 23 and not above 35 of the age as on 1st August 2020 and he/she must not have been born earlier than 2.08.1985 and not later than 1.08.1998.

• The candidate needs to show the SSC marks sheet or any other Educational certificate as proof of age.
• If there is no Educational Certificate the candidate needs to show the Birth Certificate or Category Certificate as proof of age.

• He/She must be able to speak and write Odia fluently.
• He/She must have passed an examination in Odia language in middle school.

• Government servants with temporary and permanent prohibition are not allowed to write the examination.
• Candidates who are debarred from OPSC or UPSC examination are not allowed to attend the OPSC recruitment.

Step 2: The are many advertisements regarding recruitment, find the “Recruitment for Judicial Services”

Step 3: Click on Apply now to register for Odisha Judicial Service Recruitment

Step 4: You will be redirected to the declaration page, read the instructions carefully and click on “I Agree”

Step 5: Fill the application form with your personal information like name, Date of birth, gender, sub category etc.

Step 6: Enter your contact details like the temporary address and permanent address.

Step 7: Enter your working Email address and Mobile number, Email ID is mandatory as the OPSC communication takes place through the Email.

Step 8: Enter the qualification details and enter any post-experience if any.

Step 9: If you work in OPSC, enter the details of name and designation.

Step 10: Attach the documents like category certificate, mark sheets etc; attach Physically handicapped certificate if you are a PwD candidate.

Step 11: Click on the Submit button.

Step 12: A warning message will be on your screen, carefully read the information and press ok.

Step 12: You can find all your information in the following screen and a 12 digit unique registration number.

Step 13: Take the printout of your application form and Bank Challan for payment of examination.

How to Pay Application fee For Odisha Judicial Services Recruitment 2023

Step 1: Print the challan form after getting registered for OPSC Recruitment.

Step 2: You can see the name, Registration number, date of birth and amount to be paid on the challan form.

Step 3: Please ensure the print out of the challan for is clear.

Step 4: Take the challan to the nearest SBI bank and pay the required amount.

Step 5: The bank keeps ‘Bank copy” and returns “Candidate copy” and “OPSC Copy” for the candidate.

Odisha Judicial Services Selection Process 2023

The candidate needs to qualify in three stages. Here are the stages for Odisha Judicial Services Recruitment 2023.

• Preliminary Examination
• Mains Examination
• Interview

A. Preliminary Exam Pattern

• The total questions asked in the examination are 100.
• The exam is conducted for the total number of 100 marks.
• Each question carries 1 mark.
• Marks deducted for every wrong answer is1/4th.
• The duration of the exam is 1 hour 30 minutes.

Note: To qualify for the mains examination, the candidate should get the minimum number of marks in the preliminary examination. 

• The minimum qualification marks for SC/ST candidates is 35%. 
• The minimum qualification marks for the candidates belonging to other categories is 40%.

B. Odisha Judicial Services Mains Exam Pattern 2023

The mains examination has 2 compulsory papers and three optional papers. Here are the patterns for compulsory examination and optional examination.

Compulsory examination

• The Paper I and Paper II is conducted for 150 marks.
• The duration of Paper I and Paper II is 2 hours 30 minutes respectively.
• The translation and retranslation sentences in the general english of ten lines each, there will be two passages, one in English to be translated to Odia and the other is Odia to be retranslated to English.

Optional Papers under Odisha Judicial Services Mains

• The candidates must select any 3 subjects.
• Each subject carries 150 marks and the duration of each subject is 3 hours.

Note: The candidate needs to have minimum qualification marks to qualify for interview examination. The candidates with 45% aggregate and a minimum of 33% in each paper of the main written examination will be called for the interview.

C. Certificates/Documents required for Document Verification

Before attending the interview process the candidates are required to submit the original documents. The candidates who fail to submit the documents are not allowed for the interview process. Here are the following documents that need to be submitted by the candidates.

• HSC or equivalent certificate showing the date of birth.
• Passing certificate of 10+2 or equivalent degree.
• Bachelor's degree in Law certificate.
• Mark sheet of LLB examination.
• Original challan copy of examination fees.
• Odia test certificate from the high school.
• Experience certificate if any.
• Certificate of character from the principal/professor from the university.
• Disability certificate for PwD candidates.
• Two recent passport size photographs.
• Category certificates for SC/ST/SEBC candidates.

D. Interview process

The students who are qualified in the mains examination are called for the interview, The interview is conducted for the total marks of 100.  The interview may be asked from the syllabus of the mains examination. The interview also covers the questions related to national and international issues and matters of common interest in the field of Arts and Science may also be asked.

E. Merit List of Odisha Judicial Service Recruitment:

The candidates who possess more than 40% marks in the interview process are considered in the merit list.
