The exam dates has been postponed to 12th December 2023.Earlier, the exam date was 4th November 2023. The National Informatics Centre has officially declared the NIC Scientist B Exam Date for the online screening test round under Advt. no. NIELIT/NIC/2023/1. The NIC Scientist B exam will be held on 4th November 2023 in two shifts i.e., 9 AM to 12 PM and 3 PM to 6 PM.

NIC Scientist B Selection Process 2023

Candidates who apply for the NIC Scientist B Recruitment 2023 will have to undergo a selection process. NIC Scientist B will have a two-tiered process which will include the following stages:

  • Written Exam
  • Interview

The final selection will be based on the combined performance of these stages. The weightage of the written test and interview will be 85:15 respectively. The minimum qualifying marks for the written test are as follows-

  • UR/EWS - 50%
  • OBC - 40%
  • SC/ST/PWD - 30%

NIC Scientist B Exam Pattern 2023

Candidates who are appearing for the NIELIT NIC Scientist B Exam must know the exam pattern thoroughly. The selection process includes two stages - A written Test and an Interview. The details of the written test is mentioned below. 

  • A total of 120 Objective type questions will be asked in the written examination.
  • The time duration will be 3 hours for the written test.
  • 78 questions will be of Technical Area & 42 questions from Generic Area.
  • One mark will be allotted for every correct answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
