The commission has released 168 vacancies for the post of Medical Officer under the Department of Ayush, Himachal Pradesh. Aspiring applicants must have a degree in Ayurveda from any recognized university by the Government of India, or any State, or CCIM to apply for the exam. Successful candidates can get a basic pay salary of Rs. 10,300 to 34800 (GP 5000) excluding allowances. HPPSC Ayurvedic Medical Officer Eligibility Criteria 2022

Candidates willing to apply for the post of Ayurvedic Medical Officer must possess these basic eligibility criteria to sit and qualify for the exam. The date of determining the eligibility of all candidates in terms of essential qualification(s), experience etc., if any, shall be reckoned as on the closing date for submission of Online Recruitment Applications through ORA portal.

HPPSC AMO Age Limit

• For regular applicants, minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 45 years.

HPPSC AMO Age relaxation

• 5 years of relaxation is granted to Other Backward Classes, Schedule castes, scheduled tribes, ward of freedom fighters, and differently-abled persons domiciled in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
• Relaxation to H.P. ex-servicemen and H.P. Government employees are available only if a certain post is reserved for these categories.

HPPSC AMO Education Qualification

For the post of Ayurvedic Medical Officer, aspiring applicants must hold a degree in Ayurveda from any recognized university, and not less than five years duration. 

HPPSC AMO Experience Condition

Aspirants must have a compulsory rotatory internship as required by the central council of Indian medicine.

HPPSC AMO Number of Attempts

Applicants can sit for the exam till they attain the upper age limit.

HPPSC AMO Nationality

• An Indian national or,
• A Nepalese or Bhutanese or,
• Tibetan refugees arrived and settled in India before 1-1-1962 or,
• Migrated to India from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam, as per guidelines of the Government of India, as and when revised.

Step 1: Visit the official site of the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission. 

Step 2: Click on Apply Online. Click on One Time Registration for exams.

Step 3: Put your correct details as enquired under the New Registration section.

Step 4: Update your profile before clicking on the final submission.

Step 5: Upload signature in jpg. Format with dimensions 140*60 pixels, and a size not less than 10 kb or more than 20kb. Use Testbook Photo Resizer Tool.

Step 6: Upload a recent photograph in the same format with dimensions 200*230 pixels, and a size not less than 20kb or greater than 50kb.

Step 7: Candidature of those failing to provide the right information will be cancelled at the time of verification.

The commission grants a 7-day time to rejected candidates, students failing to provide within the stipulated date will be barred from sitting for the exam, without a refund.

Upon successful registration, applicants can download their Admit Card from the official site of HPPSC. These must be carried in printed format at the time of examination along with two government IDs.

Aspiring candidates can pay for their quota online by debit, or credit card, or via internet banking through the e-payment gateway. Candidates are advised to pay well in advance to avoid last-minute server traffic.

HPPSC Ayurvedic Medical Officer Selection Process 2022

The recruitment for the post of Ayurvedic Medical Officer is done in two phases, 

1. a) preliminary test.
2. b) personality test. 

Candidates need to sit for a written test in phase 1, followed by a personality interview round in phase 2.

• Unreserved candidates must attain a minimum of 45 in the personality test.
• Candidates from other backward classes, scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, economically weaker sections, and specially-abled persons must attain a minimum of 35 out of 100 in the personality test. 

Disclaimer: In case the number of applicants for the post of Ayurvedic medical officer turns out larger than expected, the commission holds the authority to introduce a screening test, either computer-based or offline to shortlist a handful for the personality test. 

• Unreserved candidates must score a minimum of 25% to pass the screening test, whereas the pass mark for the reserved category is 20%. 
• The venue for this exam will be in the capital city, Shimla. The commission holds the right to change the venue if required.

HPPSC Ayurvedic Medical Officer Exam Pattern 2022

The exam for Ayurvedic Medical Officer by HPPSC is held over two phases, and the computer-based - written test is divided into three sections. The computer-based test or written test comprises 100 questions and has full marks of 100. The duration of the exam is 2 hours.

• Part A is BAMS Subject and has 80 questions carrying 1 mark each. The question focuses on the different attributes of Ayurveda and its branches. The section also asks questions about the different ayurvedic treatments. 
• Part B has 10 objective questions of 1 mark each. This section tests the general knowledge of Himachal Pradesh. Candidates are expected to get questions about the history, geography, culture, and tradition of the state.
• Part C is similar to part B and has 10 objective questions of 1 mark each. This section tests the general knowledge of India and the World. Students can get questions asking about India’s history, and constitution

• BAMS Subject – Rog Vigyan & vikritivigyan, Ayurveda itihas, charaka salakyaTantra, swastha vritta, Astanga hridaya, etc.
