Screening Test

The screening test is an objective type paper and is compulsory for the candidates to enrol themselves for further consideration. It includes multiple-choice questions. 

Personality Test

The Personality test is the second step under the HPPSC Assistant Engineer selection process wherein the candidate’s overall personality, mental strength, and other such skills will be kept under screening. The personality test is subject to document verification, which means no candidate will be considered for the personality test if the documents are not verified. The Final Merit List will be based on the performance of candidates in the Personality Test.

HPPSC Assistant Engineer Exam Pattern

The HPPSC Assistant Engineer exam pattern has been detailed below for the screening test and the personality test.

Screening Test

The first stage under the HPPSC Assistant Engineer recruitment process is the screening test, for which the following points must be kept in mind. 

• The HPPSC AE recruitment exam is an objective type paper and has the same pattern for the three sub-posts.
• The total marks are 100
• Each question carries one mark. 
• The time duration will be 2 hours.
• There is a negative marking of 1/4th mark prescribed per question, i.e. 0.25 marks.

Personality Test

The personality test comes after when the screening test has already been conducted. There is no defined exam pattern for it but will have a weightage of 100 marks in the selection process of the candidates. The Final Merit list will be based on the scores obtained by the candidates in the Personality Test.
