BPSC CCE 69th Notification 2023 - What's New?

BPSC 69th Notification 2023 has certain changes in the exam pattern. The BPSC CDPO Prelims examination has been merged with the BPSC 69th examination, resulting in a combined selection process for both exams. Candidates will now undergo a unified preliminary examination for both CDPO and other posts under the 69th BPSC exam.

1. CDPO (Child Development Project Officer) exam is now merged with the BPSC exam in the 69th BPSC Notification.
2. The DSP Technical Post is introduced in the 69th BPSC Notification.
3. FAO Post is also newly introduced in this latest BPSC Notification 2023. released
4. Negative Marking is introduced in the BPSC Prelims exam.
5. BPSC Mains Optional subject will be MCQ based (ie. Descriptive Type).

BPSC Exam 2023 Eligibility Criteria

If you wish to apply for the above-mentioned posts under the BPSC Combined Competitive Examination, you should first fulfil the given criteria. Here are the requirements for you to become eligible for the BPSC Recruitment. 

BPSC CCE 2023 - Age Limit

The lower age limit for the BPSC Exam is 20, 21, or 22 depending on the post. Candidates can check the official notification shared above for more information. The upper age limit has been shared below. 

BPSC 69th Exam - Age Relaxation

BPSC provides age relaxation for certain categories of candidates in its recruitment BPSC Exam. Age relaxation is the reduction in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to certain categories, as specified in the recruitment notification.

The categories that are eligible for age relaxation in BPSC Exam are:

• Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates: SC and ST candidates are generally given age relaxation of 5 years.
• Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates: OBC candidates are generally given age relaxation of 3 years.
• Ex-Servicemen (ESM): ESM candidates are generally given age relaxation of 3 years.
• Persons with Disabilities (PwD): PwD candidates are generally given age relaxation of 10 years.
• Widows, divorced women, and women judicially separated from their husbands: These candidates are generally given age relaxation of 5 years.

BPSC Educational Qualification

To be eligible for the BPSC 69th Combined Competitive Exam, you must have completed your Graduation or equivalent from a Government Recognized University.

BPSC 69th Exam Selection Process 2023

The Commission has mentioned the selection process for the BPSC CCE in its latest notification. BPSC will fill the vacancies under BPSC 69th CCE through the following selection process.

1. Prelims Exam- Qualifying in Nature
2. Mains Exam- 900 Marks
3. Interview Exam- 120 Marks

BPSC Exam Pattern

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) conducts exams in two stages: the preliminary exam and the main exam. The preliminary exam is a qualifying exam consisting of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in General Studies and Aptitude and is generally held for a duration of 2 hours. The main exam consists of written and oral (interview) tests, with the written test comprising of MCQs and essay-type questions in General Studies, Aptitude, and Optional Subjects, and the oral test being a face-to-face evaluation of the candidate's knowledge and suitability for the post.

BPSC Prelims Exam Pattern (Revised)

• The Prelims exam will have objective questions.
• There will be 150 objective questions for a total of 150 marks in this exam.
• There will be a negative marking for incorrect answers of 1/3rd marks. 
• Prelims will be just a qualifying exam.

BPSC Mains Exam Pattern (Revised)

• The Mains exam will have five papers namely General Studies Paper I, General Studies Paper II, General Hindi, Essay & an Optional Paper.
• The Optional Paper will have MCQ type of questions. 
• The duration of the Mains Exam will be 3 hours. 
• Candidates need to score 30% marks in General Hindi to qualify the paper. 
• The Optional Paper will be of 100 marks and will be qualifying in nature.

BPSC Salary As Per 69th Notification

The Bihar Public Service Commission conducts the BPSC examination for various posts such as -

• Deputy Superintendent of Police 
• District Commandant

• Assistant Commissioner of State Taxes

• Planning Officer

A BPSC officer's basic monthly compensation includes TA, DA, and HRA, and a Secretary's monthly salary can reach Rs.2,00,000.

It must be noted here that:

• Basic Pay + DA (Dearness Allowances) + TA (Transport Allowances) + HRA = Total Salary of a BPSC Officer on a monthly basis (House Rent Allowance)
• At the outset of their careers, BPSC officers get a 0% Dearness Allowance (DA), which increases over time.
